Gate River Run selects AXIA to conduct national sponsor search

NORTHEAST FLORIDA (January 5, 2010) – The Gate River Run has retained AXIA to provide sponsorship consulting services. AXIA will identify and recruit major national sponsors for the Gate River Run and other races in 2011 and thereafter.

The Gate River Run is produced by 1st Place Sports, and sponsorship packages vary by investment level and industry. With 20,000 runners, the Gate River Run is the nation’s largest 15k (9.3 mile) race. The Gate River Run also serves as the 33rd annual USA 15 km Championships. The Gate River Run is Jacksonville’s largest running event and one of the largest health-related events in the Southeast. More than 20,000 participants, 1,000 volunteers and 100,000 spectators are involved in the event, which reaches more than 300,000 viewers and listeners.

AXIA will also represent sponsorship opportunities for other 1st Place Sports running events, including the Corporate Run, Run for the Pies, Celebration 5K, Tour de Pain, Mandarin Run 10K, Outback Distance Classic and the Jacksonville Bank Marathon.

In 2008, AXIA brought together two of its clients, Octagon and MPS Group, for the title sponsorship of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Northeast Florida women’s professional tennis tournament, which became named The MPS Group Championships.
